Conduct patient consultations, duty doctor cover, and home visits in line with the GMS contract. Consider physical, psychological, and social factors when diagnosing, treating, and recommending care. Collect, record, and maintain patient information using the practices clinical system (accurate and timely documentation). Adhere to the GMS Contract, QOF targets, and CCG requirements.
Follow clinical procedures, protocols, and governance requirements from external bodies (GMC, Department of Health, H&WCCG, etc.). Request, perform, and interpret tests; prescribe or administer treatments, medications, and vaccinations. Monitor patients' conditions and adjust treatments as necessary. Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers promptly, following protocols.
Promote health education and address local health and social issues. Complete clinical administration tasks, including audits and third-party reports. Liaise with healthcare professionals and support the nursing team. Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to practice policies and guidelines.
Ensure effective communication with team members, patients, and other professionals. Participate in practice meetings and contribute to team decisions. Comply with Health and Safety policies and legislative requirements. Participate in GP revalidation, appraisals, and maintain professional development.
Stay updated on medical developments, medications, and treatments. Attend practice training sessions and meet external contract obligations. Perform additional duties as requested by the Partners or Practice Manager.
