Extra recrtuitment are currently recruiting for a night shift team leader for there client based in Birimgham. The night shift team leader should have experience in a PVC manufacturing extrusion environment oversees all production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves managing teams, optimising processes, and meeting production targets while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities of a night shift team leader: Plan, manage, and execute daily production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines. Supervise and lead production teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols. Oversee PVC manufacturing processes such as, Extrusion, Injection Moulding & Mixing Plant. Monitor productivity rates, quality standards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing). Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with engineering or quality assurance teams to resolve them. Maintain equipment efficiency through regular inspections and repairs. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with procurement to ensure raw material availability and manage inventory levels. Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime. Key Skills of a night shift team leader: Excellent communication and team management abilities. Expertise in process optimisation and cost reduction strategies. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen). Production Planning Control & Support Rejection Control OEE Calculation (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) Analyse production data and prepare performance reports for senior management. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience in pvc manufacturing, injection moulding, pvc extrusion, thermoforming Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for production planning. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Nights Standard working week is 60 hours per week: from 18.00 – 6am, Monday – Friday.
