Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Manager
Our client based in Thamesmead has a full time opportunity for an experienced Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Manager to join their friendly team on a permanent basis.
A diligent, career minded full time Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Manager (5 years relevant experience and NEBOSH qualified would be an advantage) is required to join our small and friendly team in South East London. Established for over 130 years, our Company supplies its products to an international customer base and is looking to strengthen elements of its internal systems and procedures. We are a leader and award winner in our industry.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the Company’s QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations (ISO(Apply online only), ISO(phone number removed), ISO 45001:2018 & BRC for packaging materials).
2. Ensure Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures are followed, and employees are aware of and understand them.
3. Liaise with Customers and Suppliers regarding QHSE matters where necessary and ensuring their expectations are met, including investigating and closing all customer complaints.
4. Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, including identifying and assisting with implementing improvements.
5. Liaise and co-operate with standards accreditation bodies (e.g., BSI, ISOQAR, etc) on external audits.
6. Coordination and administration of Company-wide training including monitoring training input and training needs.
7. Manage and monitor QHSE performance of the company according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
8. Report on Company’s QHSE performance to the executive directors and management team when required.
9. Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
10. Investigate and report on accidents/incidents as required and recommend actions to prevent reoccurrence and provide information/data to the management team.
11. Carry out periodic reviews of all risk assessments and method statements, ensuring amendments/updates are communicated and evidence of implementation is recorded.
12. Make the senior management team and executive directors aware of any potential threats to the company due to changes in legislation.
13. Ensure statutory inspections are carried out in a timely manner and any observations/improvements carried out when specified.
14. Carry out with HR investigations if and when required.
Key Relationships:
1. (Internal) Directors, Maintenance Manager, Departmental Managers/Supervision, Health & Safety Reps & the Production Team.
2. (External) Regulatory Authorities, Certification bodies, External Auditors, Customers and Suppliers.
Personal attributes and skills:
1. Ideally 5 years + experience in Health & Safety
2. Working knowledge ISO accredited quality management systems
3. Some experience of auditing
4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
5. Computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Salary:
£45,000 - £60,000/pa dependent upon experience, permanent role

This is a Monday to Friday role, hours: 9am-5pm
