An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Director who is an experienced mixed veterinary surgeon but with a bias in small animal caseloads is available at Academy Vets, Stranraer.
What we offer
Working alongside our current Clinical Director in practice your main focus will be on the small animal clinical work, operating and consulting. Having a special interest in small animal internal medicine, ultrasound imaging, exotics or orthopaedics would also be an advantage.
The role is anticipated to be an 80% small animal role with 20% on large animal work with mixed OOH and spring work considered.
You will be a key contact in both clinical and non-clinical aspect of running the practice, working alongside the current leadership team which consists of Clinical Director and Practice Manager as well as the Area Director and Area Support Manager to help develop and lead the clinics direction. Assisting in leading a dynamic team, stepping into large animal work when required and out of hours, being the Vet GDP adviser in clinic and to mentor and coach the junior vets in practice.
Rota
Working up to 40 hours per week across 5 days, with the OOH rota currently 2:10 weekends, vets get a half day on the Friday following their weekend first on call. Two Vets are always on call to provide backup and support if necessary.
