Hydraulic Engineer required. Our client is a designer and manufacturer of hydraulic systems based in Wakefield. They are now looking for a Hydraulic Engineer due to the growth of the business. Successful candidates will have experience with:
1. Installation, Commissioning, disassemble
2. Fault Finding / Diagnostics
3. Service, Repair, Retrofits, Upgrades on Complete Hydraulic systems (HPUs) and Control systems/components
Candidates will also be happy to work away 20% of the time.
Hydraulic Engineer Position Overview
Key responsibilities include:
1. Installation, Commissioning, disassemble
2. Fault Finding / Diagnostics
3. Service, Repair, Retrofits, Upgrades on Complete Hydraulic systems (HPUs) and Control systems/components
4. Calibrating flow, pressure, temperature and positional devices and instruments and associated control panel devices
5. Fault finding on Electro/Hydraulic Systems
6. Strip, assess and identify hydraulic parts in need of repair from Drawings/BOMs
7. Troubleshoot hydraulic installations
8. Building new projects in factory and pipefitting
9. Repairs of old items including strip and inspect
10. Servicing around the country - usually local, including pressers, hydraulic factory systems, a few bridges, etc.
Hydraulic Engineer Position Requirements
Candidates must possess the following:
1. Understand and interpret Hydraulic system drawings
2. Excellent understanding of electrical/hydraulic system drawings and components
3. Fault finding on Electro/Hydraulic Systems and willingness to work on a multi-skilled basis
4. Ability to strip, assess and identify hydraulic parts in need of repair from Drawings/BOMs
5. Troubleshoot hydraulic installations
6. Hands-on experience of Hydraulic Piston Pumps, Pressure and Flow Control Valves, Directional Control Valves, Check Valves, Double and Single Acting Cylinders
7. Excellent communication skills at all levels
8. ONC / HNC qualified/recognized Mechanical Apprenticeship or relevant industry qualifications
9. Full Clean driving Licence
Hydraulic Engineer Position Remuneration
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000
Working hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30 - 4:30, Friday 7:30 - 12:30
Holiday Package: 25 days + 8 BH
Overtime: 1.33 for first 2 hours on weekdays, then time 1.5; Saturdays 1.5x and Sunday x2
Vehicle provided for mobile service/installation work
Death in service 3 times salary and other benefits
