Location: North London, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, and surrounding counties on a field basis.
Our client is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their team, playing a key role in troubleshooting, field service, technical support, and the maintenance and repair of electrical systems. This exciting opportunity involves working on critical infrastructure such as battery chargers, UPS systems, backup power supplies, emergency lighting, and substations.
The position requires experience with utility substations and access to networks such as UKPN, National Grid, Western Power, and Scottish Power, as well as knowledge of the electrical industry's best practices and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer job:
Installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across various sites, particularly focusing on utility substations.
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults in backup power systems (including UPS) and other associated electrical infrastructure.
Providing technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely, ensuring optimal system performance.
Performing preventive maintenance on critical systems such as battery chargers, emergency lighting, and backup power supplies.
Documenting service activities, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Engaging with customers to address inquiries and ensure a high level of satisfaction with services provided.
Qualifications and Experience Required for this Field Service Engineer job:
Battery chargers, UPS systems, and backup power supplies.
Electrical installations, emergency lighting, and substation operations.
Access to UKPN, National Grid, Western Power, Scottish Power, and Scottish & Southern networks.
Previous experience working as an Electrical Authorised Person and holding CSCS certification.
In-depth knowledge of 18th Edition wiring regulations.
Working with UKPN, Western Power, Scottish Power, or Scottish & Southern utility substations would be ideal but not essential.
