Hiring Range: $15-$20/hour and increases commensurate with experience
Department & Supervisor: Recreation, Recreation Coordinator - Programs
The Recreation Department is looking for individuals to support recreation programming in the Town of Shrewsbury. Positions include but are not limited to:
1. Program Support Staff: These staff members would be available to work within programs like youth basketball, Kids Night Out, dodgeball, and others to support the participants. They would follow the lead of the instructor or coach to keep the program moving smoothly.
2. Score & Time Keepers: These staff members will attend youth basketball games on Saturdays during the winter season.
3. Inclusion Aides: These staff members would be placed in programs as needed to support participants with disabilities. Candidates with experience working with special populations is preferred, additional training will be offered through the Recreation Department.
4. Building Supervisors: These staff members are responsible for setting up for programs in different locations around Town (schools, COA, parks, etc), taking attendance as people check in for their programs, assisting with issues if they arise, cleaning up and packing up equipment and securing materials and program space on their way out.
Experience Required: Qualified Applicants will hold appropriate certifications or significant experience in their interest area. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
Additional Requirements: Provide a positive and energetic attitude towards all participants, regardless of age, ethnicity, background, or ability. Program Staff shall be approachable and keep safety in mind. Able to support all levels of skills and abilities and adjust accordingly, working with the program instructor and Recreation Department’s Program Coordinator to provide appropriate personalized supports and modifications as needed. Must submit a CORI background check, professional references, and adhere to employee standards.

Starting salary: $15-20/hour commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
Start Date: Ongoing
Class/Program Dates: Working hours are dependent upon the program/class, location and season. Indicate availability on application.
