Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 1)
Location: Primary School, Accrington
Start Date: November 2024
Contract: Until July 2025
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our primary school in Accrington. This full-time position will involve working closely with children in Key Stage 1, offering classroom support and providing targeted interventions for those with additional learning needs. You will play a key role in assisting the class teacher with daily activities, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
A significant part of your role will also involve working outside of the classroom, providing additional support to children who may require more focused attention. This could include working 1:1 with pupils or in small groups to deliver tailored interventions that help them reach their full potential. Beyond academic support, you will also be responsible for fostering a nurturing environment, ensuring that the emotional and social needs of the children are met, especially those who may find the school setting more challenging.
We are looking for someone with prior experience working with young children, ideally within Key Stage 1, and who has supported pupils with additional needs. You should be kind, caring, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will be working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other staff to implement learning plans and monitor progress. While qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate are desirable, we are keen to hear from candidates who have relevant experience and a strong commitment to the role.
In return, we offer a welcoming and supportive school environment where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives. There will be plenty of opportunities for professional development and training, along with a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
If you are passionate about working with children and are looking for a role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
