An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, qualified experienced Senior Specialist Occupational Health (OH) Nurse Practitioner with a post registration specialist degree / masters to join the OH Service, primarily based at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow. The department provides service to approximately 8,500 employees across the LNWUH NHS Trust and to external clients.
A Consultant Physician led service, the team comprises of two trainees OH Physicians, Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Manager, Specialist OH Nurses and OH practice nurses. Working with the administration team our main priority is to create a dynamic approach to maximise employee’s health, wellness at work and productivity.
Applicants are invited from committed and confident practitioners to join our friendly team. You should be competent in delivering occupational health practice in a variety of sectors but ideally within the NHS. Your highly developed specialist knowledge will be underpinned by theory and experience, combined with strong demonstrable leadership and management skills. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be required to plan, develop and deliver specialist nursing provision to the Trust and to contract clients, offering a full programme of services.
Act as a specialist Occupational Health Nurse Advisor and provide leadership / management and support to band 5 and 6 nurses
To provide a full range of Occupational health nursing service to NHS and external staff as an experienced Specialist Occupational Health Nurse advisor
To provide highly efficient occupational health care to the Trust’s employees and other private clients without supervision
To maintain effective communication with clients, managers and other professional to ensure service delivery
Assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for employee following sickness absence management and safe return to work
To provide comprehensive report, including returning to work plans with graduated timeline and facilitating rehabilitation as required
Assist and advise HR, line managers and employees with regards to matters pertaining to personal health advice, health and safety at work
Support newly appointed nurses in order to facilitate their settlement into post
Assist in writing updating occupational health policies
To undertake audit and research related to the professional development of OH nursing
To deliver training to departmental staff and mentor as required and be able to demonstrate continued professional development.
