SGA currently resides within GUSTO House, Collingham, Nottinghamshire and are part of the Gusto Group, a family-owned group of Construction and Manufacturing companies. JOB ROLE – Project Architect
JOB CONTEXT:
* Work Location: Gusto House, Collingham
* Reports to: SGA Company Directors
* Sector Experience: Food Retail, Authorities, Commercial, Sub-Urban Residential, BTR/PRS, PBSA
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Architect role involves running one or more of your own client projects under the direct instruction of the relevant Associate Architect or Company Directors. This will also require the individual to be comfortable and capable of dealing regular communications to and from the clients of the live projects and reporting and recording relevant client communications. They will be responsible to programming their own time to maximise efficiency under the supervision of their team leader/Associate or Company Directors.* This may include documents, drawings, schedules, programmes and promotional materials such as CGI’s and video animations. The role also requires good personal management skills to ensure optimum performance is being provided to client projects and your wider team. The individual will be responsible for reporting progress, against agreed targets* whilst setting and maintaining personal deadlines of outputs and reporting and managing outside factor fluctuations to their given team leader/Associate and or Company Directors. Such as Client requested revisions and Local authority, Building Control and wider consultant team requirements.
The role also relies heavily on managing and controlling external consultants to avoid unwanted or unexpected delays in production. Making sure the wider design team is reporting and returning information on time to facilitate project progression to meet deadlines.
Maintaining and nurturing Client relationships. This will ensure you build and strive to maintain the highest quality of service and reliability in output production. Both the output quality and timescales.
Qualifications
* RIBA Part 3
* Minimum 2 years Post Part 3 industry experience
* Trained in the use of AutoCAD and Revit within a professional environment with a good understanding of BIM.

* Must have a good understanding of both the design and procurement process and the ability to coordinate a project team through all design stages.

* Has strong technical skills and the ability to use design and project management software.

Primary objectives of this role:
* Managing the design process from RIBA Stage 1 - 6 completion for all projects.
* Management of all day-to-day operations of your assigned projects.
* Collaborating closely with the Directors, and external consultants to produce full design package as required to meet the needs of the individual projects.
* Procuring surveys, investigations & reports necessary to facilitate design.
* Ensuring your own work complies with the company’s standards.
* Attending meetings with internal team and/or external consultants/contractors as and when required.
* Attending monthly/weekly catch-up meetings with the team to update as and when needed.
* Obtaining input from the wider team within the studio to ensure sense check on design works across multiple design teams
* Engaging with Local Authorities throughout the planning process to keep the applications running smoothly and providing any documentation required.
* Providing planning trackers, risk assessments and/or other documents for each project, issuing to all parties and following with updates, RFI and Controlling input and output of details required. Where appointed as Lead Consultant.
* Assisting with the timely discharge of planning conditions. When supporting your Team Leader/Associate.
* Managing & assisting in the production of detailed specification documents and construction drawings.
* Facilitate request for Clients that require marketing materials.
* Working to design/project programmes and information release schedules to facilitate clear line of sight for delivery dates. Reporting back anticipated slippage prior to problematic realisation.
* Delivering effective team management to ensure consistent high standards of output and project delivery on all projects.
* Engaging with Building Control to ensure all documents and queries are addressed during construction.
* Working alongside all design team members to obtain all relevant information for design and coordinating said design team when appointed as lead consultant.
* Reporting on project progress to the SGA Directors and ensuring any issues or amendments to programme are conducted in a controlled manner that informs all parties.
* Overseeing the design & technical coordination on site to ensure a timely delivery to handover.
* Engaging with external consultants, planners, clients and building control to ensure processes and documentation are delivered in a timely manner.
* Addressing requests for design amendments and RFIs as work progresses on site.
* Collaborating with the Client appointed Contractor where appointed and facilitating smooth transition if under a NOVATED appointment and D&B projects.
* Attending site when required to address planning meetings, construction queries and to regularly review progress and keep office/site relations running smoothly.
* Complying with and upholding company values, policies and procedures.
* Applying the RIBA stages of work 0 - 7 strategy at all times.
* Upholding and maintaining the standards depicted by the ARB and RIBA Chartered Practices Guidelines.
* Liaising with Client appointed CDM advisor (CDM Coordinator/Principle Designer).

Package Details:
* Salary £35-40k. Paid monthly on the last working day of each month.
* You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, working hours may require some flexibility to meet business needs (Monday -Friday) Core hours expected to be 8.30am – 4.30pm.
* 25 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays. This increases by 1 day after 2 full years completed service, then another day after 4 years and another day after 6 years service – up to a maximum of 28 days plus bank holidays. Days are deducted annually from leave for a full business closure at Christmas.
* Pension contribution is 4% employee and 3% employer.
