Our client is looking for an organised and driven individual with a mechanical background to join their small, friendly, and dynamic maintenance team based in Middlesbrough.

What you'll be doing…
Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager & Site Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Technician ensures the timely and safe execution of all maintenance tasks, working to procedures and relevant legislation for the site, including:
Provide site support for breakdown maintenance and mechanical fault finding.
Installation, maintenance, and repairs of all mechanical equipment
Managing and inputting mechanical maintenance data in the site maintenance management system.
Help the site team manage minor projects that are taking place on the site.
Put Health and safety best practices first in all work carried out ensuring compliance with all H&S standards and regulations.
Your background…
Must have:
Completed technical apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline.
BTEC Level 3 diploma (or BTEC ONC) in a mechanical discipline as a minimum.
Familiarity with a range of pump types including centrifugal, vane and air operated diaphragm.
Familiarity with a range of valves - particularly ball valves.
Willingness to undertake basic site maintenance tasks (non-mechanical).
Nice to have:
Previous experience of the chemical industry and a workplace dealing with the handling of highly flammable products, particularly in relation to solvents and hazardous ATEX zones.
Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.
Additional non-mechanical skills.
Willingness to expand skillset via further training.
