Yard Foreman
As part of our continued expansion, we have a new position for a Yard Manager to join our existing Events team at our head office in Bonnybridge. Reporting to the Events team and ultimately Events Director. We are looking for the best fit for our team to take us to the next level.
This is a hands-on role, you will be responsible for all asset preparation including loading vehicles (where appropriate) and completing any supporting paperwork, which will result in an asset that is fit for hire and is aligned to LOC Hire standards. You will carry out your duties whilst adhering to and helping to achieve our HSE initiatives. All activities are to be undertaken in a safe and professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Administer all work yard operations and ensure compliance to safety policy
* Responsible for managing and preparing all events units to an agreed timeframe.
* Maintain neat and clean yard at all times.
* Develop and implement yard fire protection programs to ensure fire safety.
* Supervise all customer and company staff in all yard operations.
* Train staff to develop and achieve all work objectives and evaluate performance on a regular basis.
* Perform appraisals for staff, evaluate work and recommend changes as required.
* Ensure safe work procedures are implemented.
* Coordinate and receive all materials and stock. Prepare necessary paperwork and store appropriately.
* Monitor inventory of yard supplies and liaise with stores to place purchase orders as necessary.
* Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on stock.
* Monitor loading of materials.
* Investigate and identify root cause of equipment damage and/or breakdown.
* Monitor work of employees to comply with company standards.
Minimum Qualifications
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling etc.).
* Forklift ticket (over 3 tonne) preferable.
* Legally eligible to work in the UK.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must have at least a valid driver’s license - B+E preferable.
* Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
* Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
* Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
