What skills and experience we're looking for
A fabulous opportunity has arisen to lead the Business Studies department at Highfields School. Ideally the candidate will have experience of teaching Computing as well as Business Studies.
Business Studies is a thriving part of our school. We offer Business Studies at GCSE and BTEC Level 3. The curriculum is rich and challenging and focuses on building students’ enjoyment and interest along with the knowledge and skills required for examination success.
For a September start, we are looking for an outstanding practitioner. The successful candidate will be resourceful, inspirational and forward thinking. You will share our vision of achieving excellence and raising further the standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
We wish to appoint a colleague to this post who has:
A strong background in Business Studies, ideally including experience of teaching to BTEC Level 3 / A level
Experience of teaching Computing would be highly advantageous
A passion for teaching, and a track record as a highly effective classroom practitioner
The ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues to achieve their best
Highly effective interpersonal, communication, management and leadership skills
A commitment to professional development
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.
