Vida Healthcare are currently looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking prescribing clerk, to join our busy team. This position will be based predominantly at The Hollies Surgery, Downham Market, however, multi-site working is anticipated. The position is offered for 35 hours per week and the successful candidate must have the flexibility to be available to cover extra hours for annual leave and short notice sickness.
Main duties of the job
* Searching and processing repeat prescription requests for acute medications.
* Identifying specials and high quantities on prescriptions.
* Seeking alternative medications for those unavailable/shortages etc.
* Switching medications to the most cost-effective brands in line with local and national medicines policies.
* Monitoring & reviewing prescribing of OTC and low value medications.
* Synchronising medications.
* Medicines reconciliation for complex hospital discharges and patients with multiple medication changes.
* Identifying new dispensing patients.
* Identifying medication review patients.
* Supporting care homes with medication queries, ordering processes and medicines waste.
