A highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Welfare & Attendance Manager to join their dynamic team at a specialist SEN school in Basingstoke. This is a permanent role, starting in January 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and attendance of students, many of whom have complex needs. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage safeguarding procedures and practices, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and best practice.
* Oversee and promote student welfare, working closely with students, families, and external agencies to address safeguarding and well-being concerns.
* Manage student attendance, implementing strategies to promote high levels of attendance and engagement across the school.
* Provide support and training to staff on safeguarding and welfare matters.
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), managing safeguarding concerns and maintaining accurate records.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with multi-agency partners, ensuring a collaborative approach to student welfare and attendance.
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience in safeguarding, welfare, or attendance management within an educational setting, ideally in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) context.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and professionals.
* Experience working with children with complex needs, with a passion for improving their educational outcomes.
* Relevant qualifications or training in safeguarding or child protection (e.g., DSL certification).
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
