We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Canvey Island. This full-time, contract role provides an exciting opportunity to inspire students and develop their understanding of the world, human interaction, and environmental issues.
As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons, helping students develop critical thinking and analytical skills while fostering a passion for geographical enquiry. You will work in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, ensuring that students are well-prepared for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to student success and curriculum innovation. While experience is desirable, it is not essential, as professional development opportunities will be available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons, aligned with the national curriculum.
* Teach physical, human, and environmental geography at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for A-Level.
* Inspire students to analyse, evaluate, and debate geographical issues.
* Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations, providing targeted interventions where needed.
* Use interactive teaching methods, including fieldwork and technology, to bring geography to life.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalised support.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare and well-being of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards.
* Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
* A passion for teaching Geography in an engaging and interactive way.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
