Our client is a major design, engineering and water management consultancy who has been rapidly growing within various sectors and who is looking for multiple experienced professionals to join them on permanent basis. This role is for a Surface Water Management Specialist located in Bristol. This role is flexible working and can also be based in their other offices across the UK. Job Description: The engineering services they offer to their clients requires them to be able to deliver in an agile and future-facing environment. The following are examples of the type of responsibilities they seek / need you to have, working as part of their dynamic multidisciplinary team: - Lead and contribute to the delivery of engineering projects (UK and overseas), from inception to handover, to required budget and deadlines. - Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across UK and international teams to ensure successful delivery of projects. - Ensure the quality of project work meets the agreed standards and specifications. - Be client focused and able to develop good working relationships with clients; understand client needs and help propose best value technical solutions to meet project challenges. - Liaise with and support other multi-disciplinary teams, Project Managers and Directors across the wider UK home and international markets. - Act as a mentor to other team members. - Have a proactive commitment to Health and Safety and good knowledge of CDM requirements. - Lead and contribute to the application of digital engineering initiatives and innovative advances in water sector solutions.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience within a Surface Water Management / Water Engineering / Design environment. - Up to date knowledge of current design codes and guidance documents. - Experience with design software relating to SWM, Civil and Water Engineering. - Experience of drainage design / SuDS and blue-green infrastructure design. - Experienced in quality assurance, ensuring services meet the required quality standards. - Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams to deliver projects. - Excellent written and verbal skills when communicating with stakeholders including technical and non-technical parties. Qualifications: - Educated to degree level (BSc/BEng/MEng, in engineering, geography, water/science related subject or equivalent considered). - Working towards or Chartered Member of CIWEM or the ICE (CWEM / CEng). Desirable: - Previous experience working on UK Water frameworks, Design & Build environment or developer infrastructure projects. - Experience of planning approvals and assessments, statutory consents, applications for connections / discharge consents. - Experience using MicroDrainage / Causeway design software. - Availability to travel occasionally across the UK and overseas. - Possess a full UK driving licence.
