Group Account Director - Client Services

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Account Director to manage one of our most prestigious public sector accounts, delivering critical digital services. The successful candidate will have a strong business acumen with a background in the management of multi-million pound contracts for regulatory or public sector clients. This role requires an exceptional leader who has strong commercial acumen and the ability to create and drive the growth and business strategy to our client. A deep understanding of the public sector digital landscape, GDS principles and the Government’s Technology Code of Practice in the UK is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
o A senior leader for our most prestigious public sector clients, you will ensure business success and growth by delivering workable strategies, high levels of satisfaction and engagement. The successful applicant will be able to engage technically and translate digital and service design principles and best practice.
o Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders at various levels of government and public sector organisations.
o Understand clients’ needs, technical requirements, challenges, and objectives to provide strategic digital solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
2. Strategic Account Management:
o Develop and channel digital thought leadership and develop and execute an overarching business strategy supported by business and account plans to drive client success and achieve revenue targets.
o Identify opportunities for account growth and new business development relevant to the services.
o Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored strategies and solutions that align with clients’ digital transformation goals.
3. Project Oversight and Delivery:
o Overall accountability for the delivery of digital products and projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
o Coordinate with the Product Director and other team members to ensure seamless execution of product and service development initiatives.
o Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
4. Leadership and Team Management:
o Reporting to the Business Director and with two direct reports they will lead and mentor this team, fostering a collaborative and high performing work environment.
o Promote a culture of excellence, aligned to best practices, the Government Services Design Manual and the Government Technology Code of Practice innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
5. Financial Management:
o Accountability for revenue and margin targets.
o Manage account budgets and ensure all financial targets are met.
o Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analysis to senior management and clients.
o Ensure cost savings and efficiencies across accounts.
6. Market Insight and Advocacy:
o Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in digital services and the public sector.
o Advocate for the adoption of innovative omnichannel solutions aligned to user needs.
o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings, enhancing our visibility and reputation.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in leading and management of client services to the public sector or regulated industries.
* Proven track record of managing large multi million pound, complex accounts and delivering successful outcomes for clients.
* Experience working with government agencies and public sector organisations in the UK is highly desirable.
