Business Director – Integrated Creative Agency (Mat Cover) – London/Birmingham

DNA Recruit are working with a Leading Creative Agency who are seeking a Business Director for a 9–12 month maternity cover contract, with the potential for a permanent role upon the COO’s return. This position offers the opportunity to drive commercial strategy, client growth, and operational excellence in a dynamic, high-performing agency.
The agency specialises in building brands at the intersection of sports, fashion, and lifestyle, working with world-renowned brands. It activates campaigns through PR, social, influencers, and experiential marketing.
About the Role
As Business Director, you will:
* Drive commercial growth, identifying new revenue streams and supporting new business development.
* Lead client strategy, maintaining senior-level relationships and ensuring best-in-class service.
* Oversee financial performance, managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Mentor and develop teams, ensuring a high-performance culture.
* Lead recruitment strategy, overseeing hiring and talent development.
* Enhance operational efficiency, improving processes and workflows.
* Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) across the agency.
Skills and Experience Required
* Proven leadership experience in a high-performance agency environment.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in business growth and revenue scaling.
* Exceptional financial literacy, including P&L management and forecasting.
* Confident stakeholder management, with the ability to build strong relationships.
* Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.
* Deep understanding of brand strategy and integrated communications.
* A problem-solver who can make data-driven decisions under pressure.
Salary & Location
* Location: London/Birmingham
* Contract: 9–12 months Mat Cover (potential for permanent role)
* Salary: £80-100K plus benefits and comms
