Education Adviser for the Virtual School in the support for and development of the educational needs of children who have a social worker through Child in Need Plan or Court Protection but are not in care of the authority.
Provide high quality leadership for children with a social worker by acting as a champion for these children through strategic developments. Provide advice and guidance to social care colleagues and education partners in order to raise the profile of this cohort group. Work with other colleagues across the Northwest Virtual Schools to share good practice and ensure positive working relationships between partners.
Provide advice, monitoring, challenge and support to education settings and other agencies to ensure that this cohort of children and young people receive an appropriate education which enables them to fulfil their ambitions and maximise their potential whilst supporting each child’s individual educational needs.
Experience of working with vulnerable groups and partners in an educational setting. Experience of working as an effective team member with the ability to promote and develop positive team working leading to improved outcomes for children.
Up to date knowledge of educational legislation and statutory guidance. Commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
