Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant:
1. Offer 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism, assisting with personal care and classroom engagement.
2. Implement individualised strategies to encourage learning and positive behaviour.
3. Work alongside teachers and staff to ensure the child feels supported and included in activities.
4. Use creativity and adaptability to engage the child in their learning journey.
5. Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment to support emotional and social development.
What We're Looking For in a Learning Support Assistant:
1. Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly with SEN or Autism.
2. Confidence in managing behaviour challenges with a calm and proactive approach.
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to build a positive rapport with children.
4. A patient and empathetic nature, with the resilience to handle dynamic situations.
5. An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
