Entry Level Maintenance Assistant/Handyperson

About the Role
The role you have applied for is a 40-hour per week position. Typical 8.5-hour shift patterns are fulfilled between (Apply online only) any day of the week. Each shift consists of 8 hours paid work and a 30-minute unpaid break.
Responsibilities:
1. Enforce practices that ensure compliance with Health and Safety obligations.
2. Support your supervisor by liaising with contractors to ensure preventive and reactive maintenance is completed.
3. Carry out day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of guest and plant room equipment.
4. Demonstrate troubleshooting and practical mindset.
5. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure daily tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high level of workmanship.
6. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization in workspaces, track stock of products and equipment, and ensure the safe storage of tools.
Competencies:
1. Open the department and prepare tasks for the day ahead.
2. Enforce high levels of health and safety.
3. Complete jobs to a high standard of workmanship.
4. Help maintain stock levels of commonly used items (e.g., light bulbs, batteries, paint, common tools).
5. Utilize systems to track new jobs and mark jobs as complete.
Other opportunities for on-the-job learning exist and can be explored after 90 days, including placing orders, stock control, enhancing health and safety culture, coordinating work with contractors, and developing a deeper understanding of infrastructure, plant, and system operations.
You will be part of a rota team, working rotational shifts which can be any day of the week.
