TEAM OVERVIEW The JTC Group Legal Team comprises Chief Group Counsel, Group Director, 3 x Director and Manager. This role reports into a Director - Group Legal. PURPOSE OF JOB The role will provide legal support and assistance to the JTC Group Legal team across both JTC's ICS and PCS divisions, projects and elements of practice, to include (but not limited to) administration and engagement documentation, precedents, intellectual property, regulation, terms of business and general operations across the institutional and private client divisions. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Legal support and assistance across a range of tasks including: Providing technically sound advice and a highly responsive service to JTC stakeholders. Building and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders. Producing high quality and complex legal and regulatory research. Consideration and drafting (creating, amending, formatting and proof-reading accurately to the highest standard) of templates, administration agreements and other engagement documentation, outsourcing and intragroup services agreements, P&Ps, notices, NDAs, ToBs, correspondence, client service and other contractual and bespoke legal documentation, to include negotiation of any such documents. Assistance with (and managing where required) Group Legal projects, to include (but not limited to) JTC's intellectual property and contract management. Assistance with any contentious legal or risk matters. Preparation of Recommendations for Signing, Payment, Engaging External Legal on JTC's account and other internal documentation. Ad-hoc assistance with other administrative tasks as may be requested and required by any member of the Group Legal team (or jurisdictional legal heads in respect of matters with Group involvement), to including deputising where necessary. Administrative data protection support to JTC stakeholders and client service teams; and adherence to JTC policies and procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation. Adherence at all times to JTC core values and expected behaviours. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Qualified lawyer (Jersey/UK qualified). Strong administrative, organisation and project management skills. Application of critical legal consideration to tasks, clear communication of any identified issues as they are felt to arise and pro-active, construction presentation of possible solutions or outcomes. Exhibiting methodical and positive problem-solving attitude to issues as they arise. Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and have a confident and easy going manner, enabling full function not only as part of a busy legal team working across a wide range of issues spanning global divisions but with all levels of the business, globally. Proficient in use of Microsoft 365 suite, to include Microsoft Teams, and a willingness to become proficient on JTC's proprietary software. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sound legal research skills using resources such as i.e. LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters' Practical Law Company. Working knowledge of ViewPoint (or similar client management system) is desirable.
