An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Machinist to join our Operations team with Rolls-Royce at the Derwent Facility in Solihull on a 12-month initial contract. Please note the shift pattern for this role will be either double-days OR nights. In this role, youll be working in a World Class facility that manufactures and assembles fuel control systems, both Hydromechanical and Electrical, that operate on Rolls-Royce engines across the world, from Civil Aerospace to UK and US Defence programmes. As a Skilled Machinist you will be responsible for: Working to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality?machining and inspection processes across a variety of different components and product families. Operating a variety of CNC machines including 9 Axis, Doosan Puma MX2100ST or Okuma LB15 CNC Lathe. Operating a variety of measuring equipment, including, micrometres, plug gauges, and surface finish equipment. Correct interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings, written specifications and understanding programmes Work within a team to effectively to ensure we hit our customer commitments. What we require from the candidate: It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification. Fanuc control systems experience is preferred. Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, technical instruction, and asset care. An individual who is confident to work alone or part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments. Will have a strong awareness of H&S and inspection visual techniques.
