We are looking for a Manager to join our Global Mobility Services (GMS) tax team in our London National Markets team. The role will be based in Canary Wharf, London but we have options to consider Birmingham, Reading and other locations in the South.
KPMG's Global Mobility Service (GMS) practice is a diverse and fast-growing area of our Tax business. We serve some of the biggest names, with high-profile engagements touching every corner of world. Our GMS engagement teams are “360 degree service oriented”, with tax technical, client development and client-facing responsibilities as part of each successful candidates remit. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a confident, outward-facing skillset, and who is willing to invest time and energy in the marketplace.
Our Global Mobility Services practice makes managing a global workforce easier, safer and more efficient. It’s an exciting time to join our diverse and experienced team of over 4,000 professionals in more than 140 countries. You’ll advise on complex people challenges, including future of work trends such as cross-border working, remote working and virtual assignments. Working alongside multi-disciplinary experts, such as tax, technology, immigration and mobility administration services and using some of the best technology solutions in the market, you’ll have the support and tools to create opportunities for our clients – and for your career.
This team’s client base has grown dramatically over the last year and continued success in the market place and recent new wins means significant growth will continue. The candidate will be ready for early assumption of managerial responsibilities and close, regular contact with our dynamic partner and director group
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Manage a wide variety of clients and lead the team on your clients.
2. Maintain and lead strong relationships with clients
3. Take ownership for finances and billing.
4. Being the day to day contact for allocated clients, supported by a strong team.
5. Ensuring clients are provided with up to date information on Global Mobility developments.
6. Helping to advise clients on GMS issues, helping ensure they function smoothly and effectively.
7. Working with companies of all sizes, including many household name clients.
8. Project management of advisory projects carried out for clients.
9. Review of tax returns.
10. Be involved in all aspects of cross border advisory - covering tax, Social Security, process, policy and efficiencies.
11. Carry out arrival/departure briefings for senior assignees.
12. Get involved in business development/proposals.
13. Managing and coaching of staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
ATT/ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent
Experience and Background:
14. International tax services experience with UK Expat tax backgrounds, covering tax briefings, tax returns and advisory.
15. Ideally you will also have experience in co-ordinating UK led global engagements.
16. High level personal responsibility and accountability for teamwork.
17. Capacity to receive positive, constructive feedback.
18. Analytical; identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information.
19. Communicates with impact, both in speech and writing, and in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear.
20. Safeguards and enhances the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience.
21. Motivated by a passion for the international aspects of our work, professional proficiency, and a desire to serve and lead excellent global service teams.
22. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Flexible, positive outlook with a commitment to team working.
23. Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under own initiative.
24. Capable of working to deadlines, showing resilience under pressure an ability to apply knowledge to non-routine situations.
25. You should be able to demonstrate sound professional judgement including the ability to identify issues/concerns and consult where appropriate with more senior staff.
