Our Learning Disability Team is committed to supporting individuals in leading fulfilling and independent lives. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Disability Team. The team is currently based in Warwick and Bedworth and consists of Social Care Practitioners, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. As one of our Occupational Therapists, you'll be working in a multi-agency environment and undertake assessment as directed by the Senior Occupational Therapist. You will be flexible, innovative, and have an up-to-date knowledge and experience of legislation and policies in the social care arena. Travelling across the county, you'll be managing a caseload of individuals with a wide range of needs, including people with Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with physical disabilities, mental health conditions, carers, and their families. You will be helping to carry out functional, risk, and standardised assessments; developing support plans with customers and carers; and helping the wider team as necessary. You'll be responsible for prescribing assistive technology, equipment, and minor adaptations and provide effective OT interventions to support people to remain as independent as possible, identify strengths, and meet their assessed outcomes.
As a strong team player, you will be required to contribute to the development and promotion of the Learning Disability Service. The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
