Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Deputy Harbour Master to join our client's established team for work associated with a major energy infrastructure Project in Somerset. This is a 12-month (renewable) contract position – inside IR35. Hybid working options apply.
Scope
* Hinkley Point C is a statutory harbour authority, set up specifically to facilitate the import of materials to be used in the construction of the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station (HPC). Hinkley Point C has constructed a 500m long state-of-the-art temporary jetty within the Bristol channel. The jetty operates based on construction demands as well as the demands of the environment, sitting within the 3rd highest tidal range in the world.
* The Deputy Harbour Master will assist the Harbour Master in the day-to-day management of marine operations at HPC.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Organise and conduct regular marine safety exercises with Jetty contractors and external agencies.
2. Liaise with onsite contractors and local stakeholders to ensure Hinkley Point C Harbour Authority (HPCHA) remains compliant with Oil Spill Contingency Plans, including conducting and monitoring response exercises.
