Social Worker - ABS43674 Part Time
Aberdeenshire Council
We are looking for a motivated individual who prioritises relationship-based work and who values collaborative working to join their team.
We are a small, supportive team comprising of 1 team manager, 7 social worker workers, 3 full-time family support workers and 2 part time local area coordinators. We undertake a range of work including early intervention support for families, permanence planning and working with children with disabilities. We are involved with voluntary and statutory work from pre-birth to 18 years old, and we have good working relationships with the other professional agencies within the area. This allows for coordinated multi-agency working.
Aberdeenshire Children's Services routinely hold Time to Talk events and Practitioner forums to allow workers to contribute towards service development, and to allow for their views to be shared.
Requirements
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
It is Aberdeenshire Council's procedure that applicants for vacancies of this nature require to attend an assessment centre as well as interview.
Please note, assessment centres and interviews may be carried out on different dates which will be confirmed in due course.
