Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Henleaze Contract Type: Temporary - All of Term 5 Working Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:40 PM) Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support for two students with special educational needs during Term 5. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 student diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and a Year 3 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they receive tailored assistance to enhance their educational experience. Key Responsibilities: - Provide individualised support to the Year 6 student with ADHD and the Year 3 student with ASD, adapting strategies to meet their unique learning requirements. - Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to their ongoing development. - Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt classroom activities, ensuring accessibility and engagement for the supported students. - Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the students' social, emotional, and academic growth. - Monitor and record the students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). - Maintain confidentiality and uphold the school's safeguarding policies at all times. Person Specification: Essential: - Proven experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting. - Demonstrated experience supporting children with ADHD and ASD, with a strong understanding of associated strategies and interventions. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when required. - Commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning new skills. Desirable: - Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or special educational needs. - Training in specific interventions or strategies related to ADHD and ASD. - Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience in their application within a school setting.
