The team...
The ITV Pensions team in Preston is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ITV Pension Scheme for its members. The team uses their expertise to administer and monitor all aspects of the Scheme. The team also works with the Trustees of the ITV DC Plan to understand and meet their requirements while working in partnership with the DC Plan administration provider to deliver a quality and efficient service to members.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Pensions Payroll and Finance Manager, within our busy Pensions Department, to oversee the Payroll and Finance Teams and deliver critical payroll and finance processes that support the running of the ITV Pension Scheme, ITV DC Plan and UTV Pension Scheme. You will be responsible for management and development of the team members and ensure that all critical activities are delivered in a process-driven manner. You will identify service improvements and work with the systems and project teams to implement system changes.
The role...
This position will oversee the Payroll and Finance Team who operate the day-to-day pensioner payroll and finance operations working with the Scheme's finance service provider. You will ensure that payroll processing and annual events are completed on time and assist with issues and queries from members and from the business. You will manage conflicting priorities and ensure processes and activities are tracked and completed in line with requirements. You will oversee the setting of budgets and provide regular budget reporting and manage key stakeholders.
* Manage the payroll and finance teams, working closely with the Scheme's finance service provider and pension payroll provider.
* Prepare and provide timely and consistent information to the service provider in order for monthly and quarterly financial numbers to be prepared and relevant reporting to be produced.
* Manage the preparation of annual budgets. Regular budget reporting and preparation of forecasts (twice a year).
* Monitor all expenditure incurred in running the pension arrangements, including professional fees and preparation of information for regular monthly monitoring (DB, DC Plan and UTV Scheme).
* Deal with all aspects of invoice approval and supplier queries/relationships.
* Run and reconcile the monthly payroll including sending the BACS and RTI file.
* Process payments in accordance with agreed mandates and in a timely way.
* Manage day-to-day interactions with advisers (auditors, bankers, HMRC, internal tax team and other service providers) as required.
* Manage and maintain the payroll and finance procedures, ensuring all processes are kept up to date and relevant procedure maps exist. Introduce new improved processes where necessary.
* Develop and maintain process documentation detailing business critical processes and procedures.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)...
* Extensive experience in a payroll/finance management role ideally in a pensions environment.
* Experience in running payroll, performing monthly and annual payroll activities such as pension increases, resolving issues and queries.
* Experience in finance processes such as budget setting, cost tracking, invoicing, payment processing and recharges.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)...
* Be able to demonstrate advanced skills on Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to manipulate data for analysis/reporting.
* Track record of leading and motivating a team.
* Experience of working with 3rd parties, especially consultants.
* Experience of working in a project environment.
* Able to demonstrate a process-driven approach.
