We are seeking a motivated and results-driven OEM Sales & Business Development Manager to join our Force Sensors division.
Responsibilities include:
1. Proactively engage with existing customers within the defined OEM market segments and EU region in all activities both current and potential, with a view to maximizing sales and organic sales growth.
2. Identify potential new customers within the defined OEM market segment and region, qualify and develop them as necessary to achieve new business sales in line with company strategy.
3. Be the Face of the company; lead new development projects by pro-active contact with the prospect or customer and VPG R&D, Engineering, QA and other associated parties to ensure timely and successful completion of the project.
4. Manage development projects from conception to completion.
5. Negotiate contracts, meet with purchasing, procurement, and other key decision makers in order to establish firm and profitable customer relationships.
6. Analyse and report key sales and project management data and forecast future expectations for the region.
7. Discover and explore new business opportunities (NBOs) in your territory.
8. Screen the territory for leads and potential business/prospects.
9. Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
10. Generating leads through cold calling prospective customers.
11. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
12. Developing and nurturing relationships with key customer accounts
13. Assessing customers needs and the companys ability to meet those needs.
14. Build long-term relationships with new customers.
15. Following up with new leads and referrals generated from the sales team.
16. Preparing status reports on goals
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:
17. Relevant experience - A minimum of 5 years experience in sales and marketing of weighing / force / OEM sensors or associated industries is critical
18. Academic/Professional experience - A degree level technical and engineering qualification is preferred but above average levels of numeracy, literacy and IT skills are critical.
19. English should be both spoken and written fluently. Another foreign language would be an advantage, particularly German.
20. Relevant experience - A minimum of 5 years experience in sales and marketing of weighing / force / OEM sensors or associated industries is critical.
21. Behavioural/Interpersonal skills - The ability to learn quickly and apply that learning is critical, as is the ability to handle and prioritise a fluctuating, varied and sometimes pressurised workload.
22. Communication skills - Relationships will be developed via telephone, email and face-to-face. Therefore good presentation and communication skills are vital. English should be both spoken and written fluently.
23. Travel across the UK and Europe will be required for this role - approximately 25% of the time.
