SALARY: Up to £23,000 FTE (£13,800 per annum, pro rata for the 22.2 hour role, and £18,648 for the 30 hour role) plus Pension

JOB PURPOSE:
Industry placements and work experience are integral to every students’ experience at North Herts College. Working as part of a highly motivated, focussed team your role is to develop relationships with employers and ensure the smooth process of high-quality work placements for our study programme students.
The role will be based at our Engineering and Construction Campus in Stevenage, which covers key trade areas including carpentry, brick, multi skills, plumbing and motor vehicles from entry level to level 3. There are over 600 study programme students enrolled across our curriculum offer at this campus and we are proud of our achievement rates which are significantly above the sector average.
The role includes getting out to meet businesses, setting up placements on our IT system, preparing students to go out on work experience, supporting employers to deliver a great experience, visiting students on site and working with curriculum teams to ensure all students successfully complete their required placement hours.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Working with the Industry Placement team, you will ensure students are matched to high quality work placements
* A good understanding of the requirements of T Level qualifications and ensuring industry placements adhere to high standards
* Reporting and presenting work experience opportunities to groups of students
* Preparing students to go out on work experience, ensuring they complete the required hours and generating the required evidence
* Completing health and safety visits as required
* Working closely with curriculum teams to ensure a smooth process for all students
* Monitoring students on placement and ensuring issues are dealt with efficiently
* Producing regular reports on progress
* Developing an understanding of how own and teams work supports achievement of departmental priorities and organisational success.
* Taking responsibility for the quality of own work and keep manager informed of how the work is progressing
* Identifying own skills, knowledge and behaviour gaps to inform own development plan and discuss these with the line manager.
* Developing a range of contacts outside own team to help get the job done.
