About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to oversee the cleanliness, presentation, and safety of our care home. As a key member of the senior management team, you will lead the housekeeping team, ensuring a welcoming, homely environment that prioritises the well-being of residents and their families.
Location: Haviland House, Robin Road, Worthing, United Kingdom, West Sussex, BN12 6FE
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and supervise housekeeping staff, providing training, support, and appraisals.
2. Plan and direct daily tasks, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness in all areas.
3. Monitor and maintain housekeeping budgets, stock levels, and supplies.
4. Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and other regulatory standards.
5. Collaborate with the Maintenance team to address repairs promptly.
6. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
What we are looking for:
1. Proven experience in managing or supervising in a housekeeping setting, including staff management.
2. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
3. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and infection control practices in care homes.
4. Budget management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
5. Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
6. Satisfactory DBS check.
7. Experience in a care home or residential setting.
8. Familiarity with working with older people and understanding their needs.
