What you'll do
As a Senior Analyst in the Digital Growth Insights team, you will tackle key challenges facing M&S by maximising billions of data points across our millions of customers. From redefining our personalised offers, to building cross-channel marketing experiments, to understanding how our customers engage across our varied digital channels, we are working on big problems that require innovative thinking and sharp problem solving.
As part of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their business goals and develop insights that help them unlock areas of opportunities and get closer to their targets. By using sophisticated analytics and insight, you will help business partners understand not only what customers do, but why customers do what they do. This work is essential in enabling areas to make informed, accurate and timely decisions from the targeted information you help supply them.
* Work closely with partners to fully understand requirements and provide collaborative solutions based on a commercial and analytical understanding.
* Work on insights that help identify areas of opportunity & growth for respective teams and partner with stakeholders to support in operationalising these opportunities and measuring success.
* Provide analytical expertise to support the delivery of data and digital products, working closely with the relevant business teams.
* Support and encourage experimental approaches to technological and analytical challenges.
* Act as a data and analytical consultant to help identify opportunity, drive understanding or solutions across the business.
Who you are
* Passionate about analytics and demonstrate a detailed understanding of the customer, their behaviour, characteristics, and relationship with M&S.
* Demonstrate an analytical 'curiosity' through innovative, data-driven insights about business questions.
* Excellent knowledge of advanced SQL across big data tables. Knowledge of Python/R preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of manipulating and redefining data sets and applying analytical methodologies.
* Ability to communicate effectively with business partners to understand their needs and interpret how they could be fulfilled using the available data.
