Job Description
* Menu Planning and Execution – create and plan menus in accordance with the style and customer preferences of the location. With menu writing support from our central team, you'll be given a springboard to create high-quality dishes, with ample opportunity to let your personal flair shine. Dishes include artisan sandwiches, fresh salads, cakes & bakes, with scope to be as creative as you desire!
* Team Player –as the only chef on a small team, you must be happy working alone and managing your own time. Working closely with the Cafe Manager and Barista, and getting to know your customers by assisting with service.
* Inventory and Cost Control – assist with monitoring and managing stock levels, sensible approach to ordering supplies.
* Customer Relations - Interact with customers to understand their specific needs and preferences and maintain an open channel of communication to address any concerns or requirements. Consistently seeking feedback is key to success.
* Health and Safety Compliance – support the manager to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and food safety protocols/policies. Create an environment that has safety embedded in the culture.
* Compliance and Documentation - maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and food preparation processes and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Proven experience commensurate with role.
* Excellent creative culinary skills.
* Comfortable being the only chef in a kitchen and working as part of a small team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
* Proficiency in food cost management.
* Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations.
* Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Works according to the BaxterStorey core values.
