Solicitor (Employment Law) Location: Belfast (with regular travel throughout NI) Hours of work: Monday - Friday / 37 hours p/w Salary: £21.98 p/h Duration: Temporary ongoing About the Role Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert legal advice and representation on a broad range of employment law matters, supporting the client's objectives and ensuring legal compliance. Key Responsibilities: Provide timely and professional legal advice on employment law matters, including both advisory and litigation work. Represent the client in Industrial Tribunals, handling all aspects of employment-related legal proceedings. Conduct legal research and draft opinion papers, pleadings, and tribunal proceedings. Work collaboratively within the Legal Services team, supporting general litigation where required. Manage your own caseload while reporting to the Senior Solicitor. Prepare reports, briefing materials, witness statements, discovery documentation, and trial bundles. Ensure compliance with legal frameworks, policies, and governance requirements. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provide legal support for corporate projects, board meetings, and strategic decision-making. What We're Looking For: Applicants must demonstrate the following qualifications and experience: Hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification. Be a qualified Solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland, entitled to practice in NI. Have at least 3 years' post-qualification experience in employment law within the last five years. Strong knowledge of Industrial Tribunal practice and procedure in Northern Ireland. Excellent analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills. Full UK driving licence or access to transport to meet the role's requirements.
