The role is full time permanent with a salary of £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience.
Monday - Friday standard office hours.
Your new role
This role is critical in providing support to thepanies diverse cohort of distance learning students. As part of the Professional Services team, the Student Experience Officer’s primary function is to act as the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding general support, advice, and guidance during a students’ studies. Enquiries can be expected from all stakeholders, and whilst enquiries are generally student led, it is expected that there will also be considerable engagement with tutors and programme managers.The role will also include working closely with the Student Experience Manager to develop and drive forward initiatives to boost thepanies distance learning studentmunity, enhance feedback response rates, and provide opportunities for peer engagement.The Student Experience Officer works as part of a professional team, liaising closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the business to provide consistent and responsive customer service to students, academic staff and external partners.
To be the first point of contact for student and tutor enquiries.· Engagement with tutors and Programme Managers regarding the student experience.· Manage the full student feedback survey cycle and associated reporting.· Ownership of the Extenuating Circumstances process.· Monitoring of student engagement and coursework submissions.· Liaising with student representatives to enhance the overall student experience.· Work closely with the Student Experience Manager to build a studentmunity on the Student App, and develop initiatives to increase visibility and accessibility of the app.· Ensure confidentiality and adherence to GDPR at all times when dealing with student data.· Identify opportunities to enhance the student experience for distance learners and apply best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
· Educated to A Level or equivalent Level 3, or relevant experience of the same level.· An understanding of the student-related academic cycle and processes within a Higher Education/Further Education/Private Training Provider setting is desirable but not essential.· Ability to learn and develop new organisational systems as appropriate and take a proactive approach to managing and developing these.· To be able tomunicate effectively and empathetically with people in challenging circumstances.· Ability to pay close attention to detail, enter, process and manage data accurately and efficiently for various reporting purposes, both internally and externally.· Ability to cope with conflicting demands and prioritise their own work effectively.· Proficient in the use of MS Office, and in particular high level skills in Excel to manageplex spreadsheets and data.· Knowledge of using social media as a tool to boost customer relations is desirable.· Experience of working effectively and proactively within a team, offering mutual support and cover for others when needed.· Experience of a customer facing or student facing role providing advice and guidance.· Experience of handlingplaints, de-escalating, and problem solving.
