Mid Bedfordshire Community Health Services are looking for a full time Band 7 Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead to be part of the Community Occupational Therapy service within the Primary Care Home Team. We are a 7 day service 8am-9pm.
You will need to be an experienced therapist to act as a source of sound clinical advice, focused on achieving real improvements in outcomes for patients and confident in your ability to support, coach and develop individuals and teams to deliver consistently high quality services.
You will assess client's within their place of residency to provide evidence based assessment, advice and equipment that will support their independence, quality of life and personal goals.
You will work closely alongside all members of the therapy team: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation Support Workers, as well as a wider multi-disciplinary workforce across Bedfordshire. You will build close links with the professionals and services required to wrap around the needs of each individual to provide a holistic approach.
You will need to be innovative, forward thinking, self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Take pride in your work, be highly motivated and dynamic, have a flexible approach and be able to embrace change. Being a collaborative worker, with the ability to network and build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders will be essential.
You will support clinical decision making and performance of the team, supervise qualified members of staff, supporting them to provide an excellent level of service to the population of Mid Bedfordshire. There is also an expectation to support student placements and mentoring for university apprenticeships.
Occupational Therapists play a key role in shaping and developing the service provided and with this there will be opportunities to develop the role and service in a collaborative approach with Social Care colleagues and the acute settings.

All applicants need to hold a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC as well as holding leadership experience with team management skills.
Due to the nature of the post the applicant must be able to meet the travel requirements to travel across the county of Bedfordshire.
