Overview of the role
Tokamak Energy operates within a matrix structure with technical teams supporting several programmes, projects and ad-hoc engineering tasks. Forming part of the wider Technical Engineering team, as an Electrical Technician, you will utilise existing skills whilst developing new skills and experience to support a variety of projects and tasks as required across the business to align with business priorities and milestones.
You will need to be a flexible, highly motivated team player requiring low supervision and have broad based engineering experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in control panel layout, design, installation and commissioning
* Assemble and install control systems and panels
* Perform maintenance tasks on control systems, panels, and power supply systems.
* Assist with conducting fault finding and troubleshooting on control systems, panels, and power supply systems to identify and rectify electrical issues.
* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot data networks, ensuring efficient data transmission and connectivity in the commercial and industrial settings.
* Install data network cabling and equipment.
* Work on mains powered distribution boards, including installation, maintenance and upgrading.
* Install, modify and maintain mains powered final circuits.
* Install cable containment, including cable trays, conduits, and trunking systems.
* Carry out testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and mains distribution infrastructure.
* Attend to emergency electrical repairs and breakdowns.
* Collaborate with other team members and contractors on large-scale electrical projects, ensuring effective coordination and completion of tasks.
* Take responsibility for upkeep of area that you are working within, including identification of safety risks and restocking materials when required.
* A strong focus on teamwork in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
Essential:
* Electrical Apprentice time served or equivalent electrical training programme/experience.
* Relevant electrical qualification or equivalent experience (qualifications may include BS 7671 18th Edition)
* Able to read and work from electrical diagrams/schematics.
* A flexible/agile approach to daily tasks
* Good initiative with ability to solve problems.
* Good communications skills across all levels
* Acting as a good role model, always representing company values.
* Possess a good understanding of and attitude toward Health & Safety requirements
* Basic IT skills using Windows based operating system.
Desirable:
* 2391 Inspection and Testing
* Eng Tech, IEng or working towards
* Forklift licence
* Crane licence
* MEWP/IPAF 3A & 3B licenced
* PASMA trained
* PAT qualified
* First Aid training
