We havea superb opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic, qualifiedsurveyor to join our friendlyand dynamic Infrastructures Team based in Birmingham. Our infrastructure team is the fastest growing of its kind in the country, with 180 people in seven offices around the UK.Working witha number of major clients including Network Rail, HS2, National Highways, National Grid and the Crown Estate, we operate in mainly rural areas and the role would suit a surveyor from a rural or agricultural background, looking for their next challenge and professional development opportunity.

Main tasks:
1. Land and property valuation
2. Negotiation of compensation and disturbance claims arising from construction works.
3. Rural asset management, including direct contact with clients, tenants, and contractors for renewals, rent reviews and maintenance works. Dealing with Farm Business Tenancies and Common Law Tenancies.
4. Rural property lettings and tenders
5. Site visits and property inspections
6. Face to face and virtual engagement withLandowners,Stakeholders, and their professional representatives.
7. Consents for access across third party land for works.
8. CPO Promotion work
9. Develop and undertake new business/relationship opportunities and drive forward initiatives in the local area with a particular focus on claimants/landowners.
10. An active role in the continuous development of efficient, ‘best practice’ internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources.
11. Implementation of policy as required and ensuring legal compliance on all work carried out.
12. Management of surveyors working across the team
13. Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team through their professional development
14. Adheres to the RICS Rules of Conduct or relevant professional body where appropriate.

What does it take to be successful?
Ideally you will be RICS qualified with PQE experience in a commercial, rural or infrastructures surveying role with a business development-orientated attitude anda focus on delivering excellent customer service. Compulsory purchase experience is extremely desirable although this is not essential as we have excellent training available through our CPO Academy. It would be preferable if you have valuation experience asa RICS Registered Valuer, but not essential. Rural surveying experience would also be beneficial as we work across rural as well as commercial and residential sectors, probationers of the CAAV beneficial. You must also be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of relevant legislation and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
You will be ambitious and keen to develop your career and actively seek out continuous self-development, broadening your knowledge and experience. The ability to drive business initiatives forward whilst establishing new businessand maintaining existing relationships is key to the role. You will also be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, a good sense of humour, and the ability to communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients at all levels.
The role demands a significant amount of engagement with clients as well as landowners and agents therefore strong communication skills are essential. No two days are the same, things can change quickly therefore youwe’re looking for someone who thrives in afast-paced environment, where flexibility is essential for success.
As there is a certain amount of travel involved in the role, a full driving licence is essential.
