Graduate Hotels is seeking an Assistant Night Manager to join its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts.
The 148-bedroom Graduate by Hilton Cambridge hotel is part of the Graduate Hotels collection inspired by the prestigious University of Cambridge and its surrounding town. Set right on the River Cam, in the heart of Cambridge's historic centre. The hotel feels like an extension of the university, with nods to college architecture.THE ROLE As an Assistant Night Manager, you will be responsible for the safety and security of our guests overnight and will help manage the Front office team during this time. You will be warm and welcoming, providing the guest with an efficient and courteous welcome and departure whilst also working behind the scenes to oversee the completion of nightly reports and prepare for the next day's arrivals.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the hotel's night operation to ensure the hotel is safe whilst our guests are sleeping!Responsible for onboarding new team members, where you will create a culture of continuous professional development, empowering them to deliver and be the best.You will constantly be thinking about how we can improve the way we do things to create an even better guest experience.Taking ownership of guest complaints - you will be fully empowered to make decisions whilst dealing with guests and are expected to take full ownership of the feedback to ensure every guest leaves the hotel happy.Providing drinks and room service to resident guests after hours.Checking in any late arrivals in a warm and friendly manner in line with our brand standards. Complete Night Audit duties.Maximise room occupancy at the best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote upgrades and hotel services. Monitor standards and performance of Team Members with an emphasis on training and feedback. Represent the Night Manager and other senior managers in their absence, taking full responsibility for the hotel.Act in accordance with all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of these, as required.Compile adequate handover to the early shift / Duty Manager.Attend appropriate training courses when required and assist with the night team's training and development. Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing, and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area.Conduct Health and Safety Checks and Night Walks.Maintain a good status awareness of all hotel areas.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU
1. You love working nights.
2. Previous night's supervisory/management experience in Front Office within the hotel sector
3. Previous experience with OnQ PMS (desirable)
4. Night audit experience
5. Competent level of IT proficiency
6. Positive attitude and good communication skills
7. Able to work 11 pm to 7 am
