Job Role: Workshop Manager
Salary: From £39,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Scunthorpe
Hours: 40hrs/week, Mon-Fri
The Role:
Integrate Engineering Resources is currently recruiting for a Workshop Manager based in Scunthorpe, on behalf of our client, a market leader in the Energy and Utilities sectors. This role will suit an ambitious workshop manager with an experienced engineering background within the steel fabrication industry, with the desire to continue developing the Scunthorpe workshop whilst utilising the skills and knowledge of the existing team.
Responsibilities:
1. Effectively manage workflow to provide optimal service delivery efficiency and lead the technical development of the workshop and products manufactured to timescales.
2. Build and work as a strong team.
3. Plan jobs and delegate to team members.
4. Carry out daily briefs to fabrication team to ensure all staff are aware of what is expected.
5. Develop and implement workshop Standard Operating Procedures and RAMS to ensure high quality and optimum safety performance.
6. Lead the factory production control procedure undertaking the role of deputy RWC, running the NCR system capturing all relevant information.
7. Read and understand technical drawings, resolving arising issues with the design department.
8. Control job packs and fabrication drawings, carry out technical reviews and quality checks ensuring all works are carried out in accordance to the relevant weld procedures, welder qualifications and quality acceptance criteria.
9. Ensure all health and safety compliance is adhered to at all times.
10. Conduct inductions on machinery and ensure safe daily running of the workshop.
11. Liaise with procurement in relation to downstream & upstream services such as steel deliveries, galvanising, consumables and transport.
12. Support Contract / Project Managers with quotations, estimates, pricing and technical input for tenders.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a Workshop Manager in the steel fabrication industry with a proven track record of performance.
2. Excellent IT skills, proficient at utilising workflow management systems and Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Project.
3. A proven track record of understanding and working within a fast-paced fabrication environment.
