About The RoleDue to the expansion of our school, Manor Park First School would like to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant working 28 hours a week on a fixed term contract. As a Teaching Assistant you must be committed and flexible, be able to support groups and individual children with their learning. Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as being able to use your own initiative. The successful candidates will need excellent communication and liaison skills and will be closely supported by teachers. Duties will include: Supporting pupils learning, either in groups in the classroom or through 1:1 work with specific children with additional needs. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil/s Supporting pupils self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required Supporting the teacher/s Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the English and Mathematics curriculum along with other aspects of both the National Curriculum and the enhanced curriculum offered by the school. Support the school e.g. assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids. As well as classroom support, you will be required to work with children with specific needs The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
