Your role
As a Field-Based Fiber Laser Service Engineer, you are the face of our company, ensuring that our customers receive top-notch technical support, installations, maintenance, and repairs for our products. You thrive on solving problems, delivering exceptional service, and leaving customers completely satisfied. Your goal is to ensure our machines operate flawlessly, giving our clients peace of mind.
Your responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the installation of equipment, including start-up, functional testing, and customer training.
* Providing exceptional customer service through routine maintenance, servicing, and repair during on-site visits or other service support roles.
* Identifying and analyzing technical errors and seeking effective solutions to meet customer needs.
* Performing safety and security checks on equipment.
* Documenting machine data, service history, and quality information.
* Recommending changes and improvements to enhance equipment performance.
* Communicating with the Service Manager to ensure customer expectations are met and relaying important information to relevant parties.
* Submitting prompt and accurate expense and service reports on a weekly basis.
Skills
To succeed in this role, you need:
Technical skills:
* The ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively, including interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical specifications.
* Experience using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic and precision mechanical equipment.
* Familiarity with computer hardware, BIOS, operating systems, networking, and CAD/CAM software (a plus).
* The capability to lift and move objects up to 25kg regularly, with support for handling heavier loads using lifting equipment.
Interpersonal skills:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team environment.
* A keen aptitude for learning new technologies and keeping pace with industry trends.
* Attention to detail for delivering high-quality work.
Other requirements:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal network systems.
* Possession of a valid driver’s license accepted by the company.
* A willingness to travel domestically up to 100% to provide service support to customers.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
* A technical degree or certification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or automation technology.
* Relevant work experience in electronic assembly, repair, and maintenance of CNC fabrication machinery.
