Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor
Location: Sawston, Cambridge (Office/Site-Based, with flexibility for occasional remote working)
Salary: £90,000 - £105,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

Our Client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the East region business. In this role, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in overseeing and managing the commercial aspects of a diverse range of construction projects.
About the Role:
As Managing Quantity Surveyor within the East business, the successful candidate will take on a dynamic role involving both office-based and site-based responsibilities. The position provides flexibility for occasional remote working while overseeing a range of projects. The primary duties will include:

Providing detailed and accurate financial reporting on individual projects

Reviewing and reporting on other projects under the candidate’s remit
*
Supervising, mentoring, and providing guidance to junior surveyors
*
Managing the placement of subcontracts in accordance with company policies
*
Identifying opportunities to maximise project value while minimising costs
*
Assisting in the development and training of commercial team members
*
Supporting commercial aspects of tender opportunities and bids
*
Ensuring that all procedures are followed correctly across the team
About You:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the main contracting sector, particularly in the delivery of large-scale educational, commercial, healthcare, and public building projects (preferably those with values over £50 million). Additionally, the candidate should bring the following skills and experience to the role:

Proven ability to lead and manage a team of surveyors on large or multiple smaller projects

Experience with reviewing and negotiating main contract terms
*
Strong knowledge of the procurement process for sub-contractors and the monthly measurement cycle
*
A BSc, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying (or related field)
*
RICS Membership (or working towards)
