An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highways NEC Supervisor to come and join a busy local authority in the Manchester area on a long-term contract basis.
The experienced NEC4 Supervisor will work closely with the NEC4 Project Manager and Client Project Manager, fostering a collaborative environment for timely and budget-aligned delivery in accordance with the Contract. They will work on a range of major and complex highways and transportation schemes from construction to handover.
The main duties of the experienced NEC Supervisor are:
1. Ensure that all construction activities are performed in compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
2. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the project management team.
3. Strong communication skills, capable of fostering a collaborative environment and engaging with stakeholders across various levels including the public.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
5. Attend and contribute to site meetings, providing updates on site activities and progress.
6. Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, inspection reports, and safety records.
7. Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
8. Ensure that all site activities comply with the contractual terms and conditions.
9. Assist in the management of change orders, compensation events, and other contractual issues.
10. Experience of working on local authority schemes in Greater Manchester.
11. Supervision of contractors on site and verification of valuations for completed works.
12. Experience of working on highways and transportation infrastructure projects, including walk/cycle schemes is essential.
13. Experience of working across multiple projects (up to five at any one time) simultaneously with construction values ranging from £100k to £5m is desirable.
14. Relevant NEC contract and/or professional qualifications would be advantageous.
15. Awareness of project and financial management, capable of inputting into project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls effectively.
16. Knowledgeable in CDM, health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring all projects comply with legal standards and best practices.
17. Driving Licence and business insurance.
18. Appropriate level of CSCS Card or NEBOSH.
