Scientific Equipment Coordinator
Location(s): AZ Macclesfield (UK) - Customer Site
The PerkinElmer Scientific Equipment Coordinator will join the team based on one of our client sites. Successful Candidate will work with Laboratory Support Team and alongside the client scientific community. The role involves the coordination of equipment repairs, maintenance, and supporting the total asset life cycle process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clear communication to client user group to maintain compliance while working closely with our existing Laboratory Support Team.
2. Coordination of repairs and preventative maintenance for scientific community using both internal and external engineer resources.
3. Act as a single point of contact for engineers ensuring compliance to both PerkinElmer and client procedures.
4. Support the first line response for equipment repairs and support the scientific team with escalation to suppliers.
5. Ensure all materials and documentation required for preventive maintenance and/or repair work are managed and available to ensure work can proceed without delay.
6. Input all required data and documents into client asset and compliance databases accurately ensuring a clear asset history and data integrity.
7. Ensure complete adherence to PerkinElmer and client Health and Safety processes.
8. Identify and report any observed areas of continuous improvement including sustainability initiatives.
9. Cross functional working supporting colleagues and on-site customer Teams.
Requirements:
1. 2+ years’ experience working in a pharmaceutical or a similar regulated working environment.
2. Experience of working with and supporting an established customer group in a scientific or related industry.
3. Team player with the ability to work on own initiative or with minimal supervision.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. PC literate in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Desirable:
1. Previous experience working as an equipment coordinator ideally in a Pharmaceutical (GMP) or regulated industry.
2. Hands-on experience of the setup of laboratory equipment.
3. Experience of equipment maintenance or similar asset life cycle management systems.
