The main purpose of the role is to monitor lower school attendance Main duties of post include: To actively monitor student attendance, working closely with the Attendance Intervention Coordinator/Heads of Year and Student Support Workers. Actively check lower school attendance to ensure registers are maintained accurately and ensure the safety of students. Make sure register marks are up to date including late marks, absent students and those with appointments which may mean they are out of school/lessons. Inform Attendance Intervention Coordinator immediately of any absent, vulnerable students. Update unauthorised absence marks in light of updated information and ensure no 'N' codes remain. Return calls for holiday requests and follow up with appropriate letters. Attempt to locate any students missing from lessons and inform appropriate staff. Call home if necessary. Chase any outstanding registers. Produce attendance reports. Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and policies.
