Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Due to some career progressions in the service, the Children's Speech and Language Therapy team in Central have some exciting opportunities within our special school, mainstream and pre school complex needs (pscn) services. We are looking for therapists to join these three teams to work in our brand new Child Development Centre in Crawley, our Special School in Crawley and the mainstream schools in a similar area. We are looking for current B6 or B5 with at least 2 years experience who are looking to develop their skills in these areas. PSCN and Special Schools can support development of skills in AAC/Eating and Drinking and Interventions to support Neuro diverse children. Our Mainstream service can support you to develop a wide range of skills to manage very diverse needs within schools but with more emphasis on language and speech difficulties.
The Central team consists of 45+ staff working in different clinical areas. The team are approachable and keen to support each other, B7 clinical leads provide supervision with additional support for staff from Band 7s Leads in SSCs, EYS, Deafness and our Neurodevelopmental Pathway for clinical advice and second opinions.

* Up to date clinical competencies in line with HCPC requirements

As a therapist with two or three years experience you will be keen to work further develop your skills in your chosen specialist area. You will work as part of a well-supported team and be able to contribute your well-developed skills to the efficient and safe running of your part of the service. You will be able to support students, Speech and Language Therapy Assistants and NQTs/Band 5s and demonstrate resilience and early Leadership skills. You will actively seek opportunities to further your knowledge and skills.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Qualification/MRCSL
* HCPC Registration
* Membership of RCSLT
Experience
* Experience of independently managing a clinical caseload
* Working in partnership with parents, teachers and other carers/support workers
* Experience of working within a relevant specialist area and developing specialist packages of care.
* Inter-agency planning, consultation and working
* Experience of a range of caseload management and prioritisation systems
Skills and knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills/oral & written communication
* Well established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to client group
* Well established knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to client group.
