Talk to us about how we can best support you As an Assistant Buyer you will play a key role in the delivery, costing, and analysis of product components and manufacturing processes across Kingfisher. You will work closely with the product team of your category to define the sourcing needs and build a supplier strategy with the objective of lowering costs and developing operational excellence. To become a product expert within your category, understanding the end-to-end supply chain and identify opportunities to reduce cost from the entire value chain. Engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery focusing on Product Lead, Sourcing offices, QA Teams and supply chain. Build strong relationships. Support Category Sourcing Strategies that support the product needs and deliver business objectives Analyse product components and manufacturing processes to provide the lowest total acquisition cost Define with sourcing offices where the right suppliers are in order to be able to guarantee the right quality and quantities for the Group Restructure the vendor base to define the right mix of vendors and right locations to obtain the most competitive commercial offering with the minimum level of risk Strong end to end product expertise including building range structure, product development/costing, materials & components and manufacturing processes. Sound negotiation skills and aspire to become an excellent negotiator. Excellent data analysis and presentation skills (MS Excel and Powerpoint) Fluent spoken and written English.
